I have had a 100% success rate using this technique on many programs but I haven't actually been presented with a situation where I have had to use it on TorGuard in particular since the incident I posted here but I do hope that it helps you out as an alternative method.

In my opinion, finding the files & folders associated to the issue you're trying to fix is probably the hardest part of the whole process. If you can track down all the files & folders that are associated with the problem software you can regain control as the owner by following the steps in the video provided. What can happen in these situations is that all files & folders or even entire drives have the owners renamed as random babble, which is then classified as an unknown owner or which then causes all sorts of problems across the board with bugs, crashes, failed starts & broken updates. I haven't actually tried this with TorGuard in particular but I have used to resolve a myriad of issues since due to the Windows 10 build updates working in a very similar way to reinstalling a fresh copy of the OS over the old one.
